Instagram is not only a user-friendly social media platform for businesses to gain customer's engagements, but it also helps to generate sales and enhance satisfaction by having meaningful interactions with people on Instagram messaging. We are excited to integrate Instagram Direct to Socialreply to optimize your conversations' management tool.

You will need to meet these 4 conditions as below before applying Instagram Direct:

I. Your Instagram account is set up as Business type

It is required to turn your profile into a business account to use this feature. Following these below steps for checking and converting your account type:

A. How to check your account type

Go to Instagram page
Choose Profile icon in the upper right corner and tap Settings
At Switch option:

If you're not a Business Profile, it will give you the option to switch → Switch to Professional Account


By contrast, If you are on a Business Profile, It shows as Switch to Personal Account



B. How to switch your account to Business type

Go to Instagram page and Choose Profile icon in the upper right corner and tap Settings
At Switch option → Choose Switch to Professional Account
Choose Business and tap Next
Choose Category and tap Done
Choose Don’t use my contact info or tap Save to skip the Review Your Contact Info step

Any accounts set up as Creator type will need to be converted to a Business account.

II. Your Instagram Business account needs to be linked to Facebook page

Instagram Business account is required to be connected with Facebook page in order for users to get the most out of the available business tools.

A. How to connect your Business Instagram account with Facebook page

Go to Facebook page and Choose Settings
Choose Instagram and Connect Instagram
Enable Allow access to Instagram messages in Inbox and tap Continue
Login your Instagram Business account at the redirected page

In case you would like to change or remove the current Instagram account, please scroll down and choose Disconnect



B. How to determine whether your account has been linked to your Facebook page or not

It will show Connect to Instagram or Connected to Instagram to help to you determine this status:

"Connect to Instagram": Your account is required to be linked

"Connected to Instagram": Your account has been successfully linked

III. Make sure you have admin role on your Facebook Page

Your Facebook account must have an admin role on the page that you prefer to connect. If you are not an admin, please ask the admin of the Facebook Page to give you this role.

Go to Facebook and choose your page
Choose Settings
Choose Page Roles and Check the role you have



IV. Grant all permissions for Socialhead to access your Instagram Business account

One of the reasons you can't connect your Instagram Business account to Socialreply is that you do not allow permissions for our app. Please follow the steps below to confirm that you have granted Socialhead all of your permissions:

Go to Business Integrations section on your Facebook page. At Socialhead app option → Choose View and Edit
Toggle all permissions to be active
